Meet Tegan

Registered Dietitian, Diabetes Specialist

and founder of Resilient Nutrition

Personal Background

Originally from Vermont, I grew up surrounded by rolling hills, farms, and fresh air. Helping my grandfather plant a garden each year and eating fresh cucumbers and pea pods right from the ground instilled the foundation of a healthy life from a young age.

With a passion in food and nutrition, I pursued a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Vermont and then completed the dietetic internship at Keene State College to become a registered dietitian nutritionist.

Dreaming of a warmer climate and the beach, I set off to Florida to begin my career. Honing skills during my time in outpatient nutrition in a Diabetes Accredited program within the esteemed Cleveland Clinic, led me to find my passion in weight management and diabetes. Eventually realizing that only so much can be done in a single 1-hour visit I wanted to create a program where people with prediabetes or insulin resistance could make lasting change and finally get ahead of rising blood sugars.

I also witnessed several family members be diagnosed with prediabetes and eventually type 2 diabetes, including my beloved grandfather, and saw firsthand what it can lead to if not managed properly. This led me to open my private practice, Resilient Nutrition, and obtain my Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential.

My passion is guiding clients to reverse prediabetes and insulin resistance, without overwhelm, restriction, or starting over from scratch. I target all of the key pieces necessary to simplify the process and focus on what works. You will learn exactly how to eat to balance blood sugars and all of the other key lifestyle strategies to avoid getting diabetes.
